Grimy, crusty, crunched up trap/hip hop mixture makes for an unmissable auditory experience.
I'm going to keep this brief. Not for sheer lack of description or an inability to speak on my feelings about this album. But simply put, this album is one that needs to be heard. The same way a Radiohead album or Sigur Ros releases need a fresh pair of untainted ears, so does the debut release from Indianapolis based duo FLANCH.
There's a lot that goes on in this project. The two creative minds of Peter Timberlake and Ben Peterson anchor a highly collaborative project. Featuring some of the best artists the region has to offer laid over an incredibly unique soundscape. There's no wasted space on this record. Gaps of silence end up being intentional and the seemingly sporadic crunches and snaps that occupy random space all build to create a sound uniquely their own.
Please do everything you can to get your hands on this record. Make sure to visit their Bandcamp where you can download it! More than a musical document, FLANCH has created a musical experience, a carthatic exposure to new sound for every listener.
