Netflix Cures for the Moody Millennial
Welcome. Let's just get right to it: I have discovered and tested a sure-fire list of shows to binge to enjoy, cure, or reflect any mood. Trust me. I'm the epitome of the TV marathonist. I have turned to this list for every emotion I can think of. Wanna feel some type of way? Let me direct you to the series that'll pull that feeling out of you with just as much ease as Trump wishes he could pull off that comb-over.
*Disclaimer: Netflix was simply used for the title. Some of these fabulous shows are not available on Netflix. I'll put this: ** by the ones you cannot find on Netflix. But I won't tell you where to find them. I can't do all the work.
Happy: /ˈhapē/
[1] Feeling or showing pleasure or contentment
Parks and Recreation
Happiness is a fantastic feeling. It's one feeling, I think we can all agree, everyone strives towards. Contrary to what my 6th grade English teacher thought when she read my short historical fiction on cannibalistic czars in Russia, I have experienced this feeling. For this reason I know, from slight amusement to total euphoria, there is no expression of joy that is not well complimented by a good episode or 12 or Parks and Rec. If you're looking for the giggles, a reason to show your smile, or even just find yourself thinking "Why would anyone ever eat anything besides breakfast food?" you're probably in the mood for a night with Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson.
Grumpy: /ˈɡrəmpē/
[1] Bad temper and sulky
How I Met Your Mother
This emotion is a little more complicated. See, wanting to feel grumpy is rare. But, if you wish to explore emotions of despair, joy, kinship and eventually circle back to an unhappy, sulky state - listen closely. Watch How I Met Your Mother from very beginning to the very end. Do no further research on the subject. Walk away from this 9 season journey in anger and confusion like the rest of us who've watched it already. I wish all the unsettled frustrations to you.
Sad: /sad/
[1] Feeling or showing sorrow; unhappy
True Detective**
Mmm. Sad. I understand the desire to feel despair every now and again. Sometimes it's just been a while and you've been resilient and bounced back from life and now you need a night to just feel sad. I get it. So here. True Detective, though brilliant and in-depth, will rip your insides out. Pain. Lots of pain.
Hopeful: /ˈhōpfəl/
[1] Feeling or inspiring optimism about a future event
Friday Night Lights
You're downcast. You're downtrodden. You're down. Well what's more hopeful than a bunch of sweaty, overly hormonal teenage boys spending every waking moment of their lives working to score - not only for their team and their town - but for their dreams?! It's heartwarming. It's inspirational. It'll teach you about football. There's hope for everyone out8kkkkkk there. For some, it's made of rubber and hide and thrown up and down a field.
Afraid: /əˈfrād/
[1] Feeling fear or anxiety; frightened
Twin Peaks
I am fully aware that American Horror Story has some hauntingly terrifying scenes and I know Supernatural could have a case made for fear of a Wendigo but, good God man. I don't believe I have ever met a human being able to withstand the fear that creeps up and back down your spine and through every part of your mind and body from Twin Peaks' Killer Bob scene. You wanna feel fear like never before? Next time you're home alone, go to your room with your laptop and watch the Bob moment. I swear you won't sleep the same for weeks. I'll just leave it here for you.

Surprise: /sə(r)ˈprīz/
[1] An unexpected or astonishing event, fact, or thing
Game of Thrones**
So here's the thing. I know some of these shows (especially and specifically this one) are pretty well known and most everyone has already seen all the twists and turns. The point is that if you haven't- this show has come bat s*@! crazy stuff go down. Surprise doesn't even begin to cover the shocking roller coaster this show will take you on. Good luck on your journey, young one. Winter is coming.
Lovey-dovey: /ˌləvēˈdəvē/
[1] Very affectionate or romantic, especially excessively
The Office
Now, you may be confused because The Office is a known comedy and you're just finding out "lovey-dovey" is a word in the dictionary, but roll with me on this. The story of Pam and Jim is, quite possibly, the greatest on-screen love story of all time. There is never a dull moment in The Office. You'll be laughing until you cry and crying until you laugh. It'll have the most die-hard cynic rooting for love. It's long, but totally worth it.
...
That's what she said.
Binge: /binj/
[1] A short period devoted to indulging in an activity to excess
The Abundance of Other Shows On Netflix: Take Your Pick
These are just some honorable mentions, incase you're in the mood to binge bur you're not sure on what and you need some recommendations. Or maybe you just want something on in the background while you clean. Netlix has a ton of shows that can make you feel all types of ways. Go. Discover. Binge until your brain's numb.
On another note, I heard Gone Girl is actually more than just a movie. Books... amirite?
